What things give you images?

Hey Everyone,

Today we will talk about images. Well in Greek the world I wanted to use is εικόνες or icons. I bet you have questions about how images are messing with a writer's inspiration.

The most common questions are: What things give you icons or images? Can this be only a scene that happens in front of you or other things as well?

In my case, I get images from everywhere. I might listen to a song and have an image in my mind. I might read or talk about something and a little story is in my mind.

The thing that matters the most is to be truthful to your instincts. To love what you think and what you write.
If you are truthful to yoursel,f then you can achieve wonders.

Revisiting Old Friends....

Hey Everyone,

I missed writing poetry so tonight I will try to remember the old times, - If you want to check my poems bug me and I will give you some links *winks*

So, what I should write? Let me think about it a little...:Poetry needs its time.

Stories of a Peaceful Soul

I like silence. I feel annihilated.
I think mostly it has to do with the calmness of the soul.
So eager to rest, so eager to feel blessed.

Cherished moments that I can recall.
Thinking of you, of our love.
Thinking what I miss and what I loved.

It is easy to remember when the other one is gone.
We choose to remember memories that cover happiness above all

I like silence, I feel content.
In silence I can remember all those things I forgot when you were here.
In silence I can draw my set and live again.
I like silence, I feel blessed.
Even though, I live without you in a world where my peaceful soul learnt to blend.

Until Tomorrow,

Have A Nice Day / Night

When the plot of your story unfolds...

Hey Everyone,

Today we are going to talk about plots especially the ones that open to the author. Most of the times, authors have some ideas. In the beginning, we might get a "glimpse" of this idea and not the whole image. The most you write the most the story opens up to you.

If you think about it, this is the most important thing. You can actually see the story. It is like a day where the mist hiddens everything around you and slowly it goes away, and finally your eyesight is getting clearer.

In my case, I have an clearer idea of my plot, which is amazing because I can see details and little things that make a story even better. You must know that for an author, a story is like a journey. You write it down but the rewards are tremendous. You always getting better from this journey, if you use correctly the gifts that are given to you.

Lunar Eclipse & Winter Solstice....

Hey Everyone,

Yesterday morning for us in my part of the world, something rare happened. A Lunar Eclipse on the Winter Solstice. I didn't see it because it was 08:33 am in the morning but I found this lovely video you can all enjoy!

We need to "document" some things, don't you think? It is a rare occasion that had almost 500 years to happen. At least, these days we have the media to enjoy again and again those phenomena that are miracles of the universe.

When this tune gives you a scene....

Hey Everyone,

Today while I was working this tune came to my mind. This trumpet which is the beginning of the most known French Song. La Vie En Rose was first said by Edith Piaf and the great Louis Armostrong made his own version as well.

I have to say that I love both versions. I have this memory that my yiayia was listening to Edith Piaf and singing. As Europeans we are more familiar with the music around Europe and I knew this song long before I was 10 years old.

Today I wanted to listen to Louis version and it gave me a scene. This scene is so beautiful. I cannot share it with you because maybe, just maybe I will add it to a story I am thinking. When I will post it on my fanfiction I will add the song in my tracklist :)

Until Tomorrow,

Have A Nice Day / Evening....

P.S. You can listen to Louis Armostrong's version in the video below...Most of you may have listen to it in Wall-e

Question; Are You Reading...?

Hey Everyone,
Today we are going to talk about reading. Are you reading? The answer is YES, I am reading. Even know I remember myself reading books while I was a pre-teen and teen. I remember those little stories for my young mind that are like fingerprints in my heart, even today.

Reading stories is like a window to a new world. While you are reading a new story, what you really do is "sneaking" in this world and live with the characters. You are like an invisible visitor who observes and wants to know what is going to happen next.

What am I reading mostly? Stories that widen my imagination. I really like romance but not for all times. I prefer mystery, adventure and great heroes and heroins. One of my favourite authors is James Rollins and his Sigma Force Saga. I will do a book review during the next month...(I hope...!)

Writing and Pleasure

Hey Everyone,
Here is another entry...Today we are going to talk about writing and if you can call it a pleasure.

I will try to help you with a scene...Try to do what I am describing...okay?

Imagine that you are at your home, wearing the most beautiful dress (if you are a woman), suit (if you are a man) and in front of you you have the most magnificent chocolates. They are not simple ones. They are liquor filled chocolate candies, with cherry. You take one and take off the wrap.

You bring the candy near your nose and you enhale the aroma...Instantly you have an urge to eat it. That is the plan but don't do it yet. You are closing your eyes, bringing again the candy near your nostrils to feel the aroma. It is more intense right?

I know, now you are insatiable...You want to eat it. You want to feel the cherry liquor in your mouth. You want to feel that bitter sweet nectar in your taste buds. You bring it closer and final you bite the fine chocolate. A tiny taste of the elixir is now in your mouth and you want more. You take the remaining candy in your mouth. You close your eyes and let your senses to overpower you.

When you have swallowed the last piece of the chocolate and the liquor, you open your eyes and you feel overly satisfied...

This....is writing for me... a pleasure....*winks*

Until Tomorrow,

Have A Nice Day / Evening!

What helps me to write...

Hey Everyone,
Today, I will share with you what things are helping me to write. Well, one of them. There are a lot of things that help someone to write. For me only one thing really really help me to relax and write. Can you guess what is it?

Well, I won't tease you any longer. The answer is music.

I have a really wonderful relationship with music. I think it mosty has to do with the fact that I used to play the piano and sing when I was younger. I have stopped though but the connection is still here.

I am listening to mostly a lot of genres and I enjoy them. Everything has to do with the time or the mood you are listening to a compilation of songs.

These days I am listening to specific artists mostly...I have already shared with you one of my favourites. Andrew Belle is one of my favourites right now...and I highly recommend you to listen to his songs. You will  be amazed by his voice.

Hope you liked my little revelation...Now, I am waiting for yours....!

Until Tomorrow,

Writing Down Your Own Ideas...Ain't Easy...

Hey Everyone,

This is my first "serious" entry about Writing.

Yes I am writing. Literature and Poetry. As far as I remember myself I was writing. I used to write poetry in High School and I still have my notebooks full of my poems. I think I need to re-read them, I might find a gem that I need to post. Unfortunately for my international friends it will be in Greek.

Those who know me from my previous fanfiction works are familiar with my plotlines.I loved fanfiction and I have read the most amazing stories in the TwiFandom. Almost two years later, I feel that I am more mature and I can open my wings and fly.

I have to confess that it is not easy to write both in Greek or English. In my case, I made a huge step 1,5 year ago when I started writing in English. Yes in English. For an non Native Speaker if you think that is easy, I can assure you that is not. I tried really hard by studying and reading literature or any other material that would help me to reach the level I have right now.

Whoever said that writing is easy I can tell you that you are definitely wrong. Writing is not easy. An author might have an idea, a plot to write but that doesn't make it easy at all. It is like you are left behind in deep blue sea and you have to learn to swim.

How you are going to get back at shore is your way of writing. You can use your imagination and you can create a very nice way of saving yourself or you can easily get drown.

This blog was made because I wanted to share with you, my path in writing. I cannot give you any advice because I am trying to find where I am standing too. But, I will continue to write my stories and poetry...

Those that will be around they will get to see my artistic nature. I hope you will enjoy this journey with me.

Until Tomorrow,

Have a nice day / night

About Cleopatra

Cleopatra Comnenos

As a child, Cleopatra Comnenos was a dreamer. Her vivid imagination fueled her poetry about love and broken hearts. Originally, her goal was to become an acclaimed soprano or even a surgeon in order to save lives.
Destiny had other plans for her. While her peers were studying, she was constantly working, her writing being the only salvation when she was stressed. When her quest to pen her first Greek novel stalled, she took the time to reevaluate priorities until she was ready to tackle the quest.
During her time of self-discovery, she came to believe that Muses do exist. Their divine intervention coming in the form of Cavafy’s poem Ithaca, and the inspirational voice of the tenor Frangoulis.
As time passed, she continued writing poetry expressing her thoughts about love and the pain a rejection gives to a human heart.
When the time was right she started writing again. Constantly experimenting with plots, characters and words.
In the end she found her true calling. She realized that no matter what, she was doing in her life, she wouldn't stop writing. These days she can be found penning her first Greek novel, while her mind plots the creation of her first English work as well.
