Who we are?

Kalimera friends,

The Olympic Flame was lit today in Ancient Olympia and while I was watching it on live streaming, those words came into my mind. Thanks as usual to my Muse. Ευχαριστώ.

~C.C.

Who we are?

Those who are lost and maybe found. Bearers of a civilization that we love to hate.
It is not easy to accept such a gift. Especially when you have a huge burden to your shoulders.

Who we are?

Those who remember and live with the memories around them.
Watching the sunsets passing by. Enjoying the Aegean Sea.
Letting that breeze take their sadness away.
Breathing the air someone else before us did in the same spot we are now standing.

Who we are?

Kids, crazy, eternal youth.
Some call us lazy but I have to disagree.
Check again our unemployment rates and you shall see.

Who we are?

Those who revive every four years a litargy so as the rest of the world to have the Olympic Flame, that blessing from Apollo for the Olympic Games.

Who we are?

Those who are wounded from crisis but care too much for that tradition.

Who we are?

Those imcompatible and proud people who are fighting for survival, the greatest battle of their lives.

That's who we are.

  1. Deep thoughts, indeed. Greece is the birthplace of modern civilisation and that child now grown looks likely to strangle its mother.
